It’s official. Erap Estrada, convicted of plunder, among others, has finally declared his intention to run for Philippine president! Who else can make a good VP running mate but Jejomar Binay, who also have pending cases of graft and corruption filed against him. This really made my day – in a bad way. I was sooooo furious and scared for the future of Philippine politics, and I feel helpless because a) I am not a registered voter and cannot officially “NOT” vote for Erap and b) I am physically not in the country to do something – e.g. join a rally or a protest march. I got several reactions from my Facebook account where I posted a screen shot of SunStar Cebu e-paper’s headline announcing THE news. One of my friends posted excerpt from a wordpress blog, which made my day – in a good way. Click here. The heckler writes funny and witty posts about Philippine politics and current events – with a tinge (or should I say saturated with dark red color?) of truth to them. At the end of the day, I was able to laugh out loud and not take this piece of crappy news too seriously. (But seriously, I just hope we, as a nation, have learned our lesson. Hello! The track record of these two TRAPOs – traditional politicos – are soooo blaring and blatant that I will really lose all the faith and hope in the sanity of my countrymen if Erap wins again. And if I may add, I might even lose it earlier if the Supreme Court votes in favor of Erap’s shenanigans).
Here’s to laughing out loud (Excerpt from the blog):

And the No. 1 reaction of a political figure to the Greenbelt Mall heist…
Sen.
